SUBMISSIONS

Submissions are open to everyone, but only one submission per person per category (feature and short film). We ask that filmmakers be present for the event, located in Springfield, VT.

If you have any additional questions you can email freshcutfilmfestival@gmail.com
To keep up to date, follow us on Facebook at Fresh Cut Film Festival
Additional specifications of video formatting will be released soon.

If you’d like to make a submission for the non-youth category, it costs a one-time fee of $25. If you are submitting a short film for our youth category (under 18) then your submission is free. There’s an option to add a gift sum to your submission to help other filmmakers enter their piece, and to help cover the costs of this Festival.

Submitting a piece to this Festival does not guarantee your film will be showcased in the Festival itself. Submissions will be reviewed on a first-come first-served basis. The deadline for the 2024 Festival submissions is July 1st, 2024.

If you are interested in a seated ticket to view all of the films, you can reserve your festival ticket now. When we get closer to the event and have chosen which films will be featured you will be able to choose which film(s) you’d like a seat at, again at a first-come first-served basis. Reserving a seat now is $10 (you get a chance to sign up for as many film viewings as you’d like with priority), while purchasing a ticket at the door is $15 (and first-come first-served for sign-up).

YOUTH SHORT FILMS

We will be showing all youth short films during the Springfield Street Fest. There is no fee to enter as a young filmmaker. You must be under 18, and can only submit one piece. Your short film can be no longer than five minutes in length, and you can submit it using this application.

FOR THE YOUTH SHORT FILMS ONLY

You must include:
– Something “Fresh Cut” in your film

As well as ONE of the following
– A shot of a waterfall
– Use the word “cosmopolitan”, written or spoken
– Potential for Innovation, such as an old building or new gadget
– Something historical

MIXER

After the established filmmakers have had their films featured, we’re inviting all filmmakers that have become a part of the Festival to enjoy a guest speaker and mixer to talk about their films and meet each other. This is a great way for young filmmakers to be inspired, and connect with other people in the field. Just as it is great for established filmmakers to make connections with their peers and potentially find some up and coming talent.
